Nebraska AIDS Project

Receiving an HIV/AIDS diagnosis can be daunting. It’s important to know that support is available, and the Nebraska AIDS Project (NAP) can help guide individuals through every step of the journey. In 2025, the organization conducted more than 1,441 HIV tests across Nebraska, provided case management services to over 1,400 individuals living with HIV and supported more than 100 clients through its PrEP program. Whether seeking education, testing, medication or support services, NAP provides guidance in a safe, trusted and welcoming environment.

What services do you provide?

Nebraska AIDS Project provides comprehensive HIV prevention, care and support services to individuals and communities throughout Nebraska.

Prevention Services

  • Free and confidential HIV testing
  • Free STI Testing (gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis)
  • HIV prevention education and risk-reduction counseling
  • PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) navigation and support
  • Linkage to HIV medical care for individuals who test positive
  • Community outreach and health education presentations
  • Condom distribution and safer-sex resources
  • 24/7 Emergency Contraception Access
  • Partnerships with schools, healthcare providers and community organizations to increase awareness and prevention efforts

Case Management Services

  • Medical case management and care coordination for people living with HIV
  • Linkage and retention in HIV medical care
  • Health insurance enrollment and benefits navigation
  • Referrals to medical, behavioral health and social service providers
  • Housing assistance and housing-related referrals
  • Transportation and other barrier-to-care support
  • Treatment adherence support and health goal planning
  • Food Assistance
  • Psychosocial Support groups (NAP night, VIDAS, Women’s group)
  • Coordination of supportive services to help clients achieve and maintain viral suppression

For more than 40 years, Nebraska AIDS Project has worked to improve the lives of Nebraskans impacted by HIV. Through their programs, they’ve help individuals access life-saving medical care, maintain housing stability, navigate complex healthcare systems and connect to critical support services. Just as importantly, NAP has served as a trusted and welcoming space where individuals can access vital sexual health resources, receive accurate information and find support free from stigma or judgment. NAP is committed to meeting people where they are and ensuring that all Nebraskans have access to the tools, care and community they need to live healthy lives.
